How to Get a Horse in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the land of Hyrule stretches across multiple regions, which can be a lengthy process for certain areas. Although the use of waypoints can facilitate rapid travel, many players have discovered alternative methods using Echoes to travel from one region to another. But why not have a more stable mode of transportation?

Speaking of stables, horses are an optional means of transport, but only if you complete certain secondary quests in the game. Here’s how to obtain and summon a horse in Echoes of Wisdom.

How to Get a Horse

Head to the Ranch Hyrule, located on the left side of Hyrule Field. A waypoint and a bouncer will greet you near the entrance. Approach the old man on the top left of the ranch, who will speak of a lost horse that usually wanders West of the ranch. With this information, move to the western side of the farm until you spot a pond…

How to Call a Horse

And speaking of that, Impa’s Gift is the only way to obtain the ability to summon a horse. Inside Hyrule Castle, Impa will mention that she raised a horse for Zelda and that it’s time for it to be hers, given that Zelda is now traveling throughout the land of Hyrule. After speaking with her, head west to the Ranch Hyrule and speak with the woman with a carrot attached to her hair on the left side of the ranch. She will reveal that the White Horse has gone for a ride and will return shortly… if only it were that convenient.

Unfortunately, a breach has appeared, bringing the horse to the inside. The breach itself is not far from the ranch; simply head north-west until you spot a carrot field with people gathered there. Ask Tri to enter the breach and he will tell you that four of his friends are trapped in the Fixed World. After closing the breach, you will notice that the horse has not yet appeared. At this stage, use the Gladius ability to pull a carrot out of the ground. This will entice the horse to come to you and take a bite of the snack. After completing the secondary quest, sort out another carrot and learn the Echo of Carrot ability that can be used to summon your horse from anywhere in Hyrule.

Remember, with this unique mode of transportation, you’ll never have to worry about lengthy journeys between regions again.
